Bow Valley College students can download and access Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) for free.

- Get started by going to: office365.mybvc.ca
- Sign in with your full myBVC email address and password
- At the top right, click on the "Install and more..." button
- When the menu appears, click on "Install Microsoft 365 apps"
- Wait for the download to finish and then follow the instructions to install
- The first time you start a Microsoft 365 app on your computer (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) you will need to sign in again. Use your myBVC email and password to activate your license.
For more detailed instructions, check out this handout: Installing Microsoft Office on a Computer
You can also download mobile versions of your favourite Microsoft Office apps and use them on your phone or tablet. On mobile devices, you will need to install each program separately.
- In your device's app store, search for the Office app you want (ie: Word, PowerPoint)
- Download and install the app to your phone
- Open the app and sign in with your myBVC email and password to activate your license.
Your Microsoft 365 subscription also includes access to a BVC OneDrive account. OneDrive is Microsoft's cloud storage - so, instead of saving your files to your computer or a USB drive, all your files can be saved online. You can also log in and work on your assignments and documents anywhere that you have internet access.
Important: Your BVC OneDrive will expire when you are no longer enrolled at Bow Valley College. If you have important personal documents, photos or files, you should save these to a personal OneDrive account instead.
