Bow Valley College offers free wireless internet access (WiFi) to students anywhere on our Calgary campuses.
Students should connect to the MyBvc wireless network with their student email and password.
The username and password are the same as the username and password used to log into your MyBVC.ca student account and D2L. Your username is usually: [First Initial].[Last Name + Last 3 Numbers of Student ID] @mybvc.ca
For example: a.student123@mybvc.ca
Note: If you reset your MyBVC.ca password, you will need to reconnect your mobile device to the MyBVC Wifi.
1. Open your WiFi settings
2. Select the MyBVC Wifi network.
3. Type in your myBVC email and your password. Then tap on the Join button at the top right.
4. Tap on the Trust button on your screen to finish the process:
1. Select the MyBVC Wifi network
2. Choose the following options:
1- PEAP; 2- MSCHAPV2; 3- Don't validate/(unspecified).
3. Then, type in your myBVC.ca email and password.
4. Press CONNECT to get connected to WiFi.
Changing your password
If you forget your password, you can request a password change from the Password Reset page.
- Enter your Student ID and your birth date on the form.
- Check your personal email (the email you used to register at Bow Valley College) for the link to reset your password.
For more information, check out the Password Reset handout. You can also contact the BVC Service Desk in person (3rd floor, North Campus), or call 403-410-1611 to request a password reset. Service Desk staff will ask questions to verify your identity.
If you reset your myBVC password, you will need to log in to all BVC services again - including WiFi.
Your new password must follow these rules:
- Your password cannot contain your name, Student ID number, or birth date
- Your password must be at least eight characters or more
- Your password must use at LEAST three things in this list:
- Lowercase letter
- Uppercase letter
- Number
- Symbol (eg: !@*%)
