Research Support Fund
Tri-council’s Research Support Fund program assists Canadian post-secondary institutions with the costs associated with managing their research enterprise, helping them to maintain a world-class research environment. Click here for further details.
Bow Valley College allocates the Research Support Fund for management and administration of research enterprise which is one of the five categories of allowable expenses. This funding enhances our applied research through supporting grant applications and proposal development.
“Indirect Costs” are research expenses incurred by the institution that may not be identified and charged directly to individual research projects, such as facility maintenance, resource improvements, salaries for employees who support federally funded research, personnel training, regulatory requirements, intellectual property management, Equity Diversity and Inclusion planning, and knowledge transfer activities. Indirect Costs do not include expenses incurred because of the unit or individual research (e.g., course release, extra clerical support, materials, and supplies).
Bow Valley College incurs Indirect Costs for security; utilities; and salaries and benefits for research administration, including Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology and purchasing.
