School Program Facilitator Volunteers
Their role is to prepare, support and facilitate school programs. Two Facilitators will be assigned to each program. LINKages will contribute training, a program plan, resources and support to the Program Facilitators, enabling them to find success with their role.
Working with LINKages, Program Facilitators will resource materials needed for program activities and snacks for programs working with an approved budget. Program Facilitators will lead programs, focusing on participation interaction and relationship development. Administrative duties (flyer delivery, recruitment, survey retention, photography, etc.) may also be responsibilities.
Programs start in fall and end before the summer. Programs will run weekly or bi-weekly. Approximately 3 hours is needed for Program Facilitator to prepare for and facilitate each programmed event. LINKages school programs are 1 hour events. A commitment from volunteers and participants are necessary for programs to develop trust, respect, openness and friendship.

School Program Support Volunteer:
School programs run between Oct-May of each year and run weekly & bi-weekly during the day. School Program Support Volunteers will help support the Program Facilitators in delivering Intergenerational curriculum to groups of youth & seniors & support the transfer of knowledge, connection, & skill development.You should be passionate about building community and relationships between generations.

Suite Ambassador Volunteer:
Kids Up Front (KUF) has suites frequently donated by corporations for events at the Saddledome for Flames games, Hitmen games, Roughnecks’ games and concerts. Suite ambassadors are KUF representatives who accompany the groups that Kids Up Front sends from their partner agencies.
The suite ambassador brings the suite tickets along to the event, meets the group a half hour before the event starts and then accompanies the group to the suite. Your job is to supervise the group and make sure the suite is taken care of. You aren’t there to babysit the group (chaperones are sent along from the agencies we send), you are just there to represent Kids Up Front.
The position is as flexible as you want it to be. You can volunteer for any number of suites you would like to. Depending on the event, you will be required to be available for 3 – 4 hours,from the start to the finish of the game or concert.
Each suite ambassador needs to complete a police check and child intervention check before taking on a suite with KUF. You will also be required to attend a volunteer training session and sign a code of conduct agreement.

Cerebral Palsy Association Alberta Opportunities
Receptionist/Admin Support Volunteers: Shifts available are Wednesday and between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Commitment requested is 1 regular shift/week of 4-8 hours in length. Volunteers will answer phones, log mail, greet visitors and clients.
Swimming Volunteers: Volunteers support children in the class with 1:1 ratio. Volunteering for this program is an opportunity to share your love for the water and being active to benefit a child with limited ability.Volunteers are required to feel comfortable in deep water and able to support the movement of the participant they are working with. Time commitment: Saturdays from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Parkinson Association of Alberta: Volunteer Opportunity
The Parkinson Association of Alberta is currently looking for several volunteers to fill the role of Receptionist. Shifts available are Monday through Friday and time between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Commitment requested is 4 to 20 hours per week depending upon your availability.
Description of Duties:
Greet visitors and clients , Answer calls, forward calls & take messages when necessary, light administrative duties, direct questions to appropriate staff person or program, maintain reception and waiting area neat and orderly
Requirements:
Friendly, positive, professional demeanor, excellent verbal communication skills, ability to operate multi-line phone, ability to work with people of many different backgrounds and abilities. Pass a background check, maintain confidentiality and possess the ability to work cooperatively with staff and other volunteers

- Bridge Club Program Assistant: work with elementary school refugee and immigrant students.
- NxtGen Jr. High Program Assistant: work with junior high school refugee and immigrant students.
- NxtGen Sr. High Program Assistant: Tutor one of the following subjects to high school students in math, science, ESL, English, social studies, chemistry, physics and biology.
Homework Club Tutor Assistant: Support elementary and junior high school students to do their homework.
Mentorship Program Opportunities
- Mentorship Program Assistant: Support the educational settlement and integration of newcomer high school students.
- Mentorship Program Field Trip Volunteer: Support the mentorship program during field trips.
Volunteer details: Commitment is 2 hours per week, between the hours of 2:30 - 6:30 pm depending on location (February to May)
