Bow Valley College Pride Committee
The Bow Valley College Pride Committee is responsible for creating event and connection opportunities for the College's 2SLGBTQIA+ community including the first-ever Pride Month (formerly Pride Week) and BVC Pride Presents, a series of monthly events. Pride Week is a collaborative effort by Learner Success Services, SABVC, students, and employees from diverse Schools. Pride Month, taking place every October, is a collective celebration of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and communities at Bow Valley College.
Sustainability & BVC Pride Presents: Make your own Pride pennant or flag

Come out and showcase your pride and your crafting skills before BVC Pride Month. Everyone at the college is invited to upcycle fabric swatches from the Interior Decorating program into their own original designs, to be taken home or used as a decoration on campus during Pride Month.
Bow Valley College Pride Month - October 2024
Pride Month includes a series of weekly events and month-long opportunities to engage with 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, information, and more. Throughout the month of October, we have planned a series of exciting activities and events including the ever-popular drag show, a karaoke kickoff, resource booths, socials, workshops and more. Gender Affirming Clothing Drive

Help us support trans and non-binary individuals by donating gender-affirming clothing and items! Your contributions make a huge difference in helping people feel comfortable and confident in their identities. The Second Chances Free Store is accepting gently used or new clothing, accessories, binders, and other gender-affirming items. Every donation brings us closer to building a community of inclusion and self-expression. Thank you for your generosity!

Upcoming Pride Events
1. PROMOTION AND PROMOTIONAL PERIOD: To celebrate BVC Pride 2023, we will be running a social media contest during Pride Week. For this contest, students will be asked to take photos with the #BVCPride art piece on campus and share the photo with us on social media platforms using #BVCPride and #BVCNow. This promotion will be open and running from Monday, February 6 – Friday, February 10, 2023.
2. ELIGIBILITY: The promotion is open to all current domestic and international students at Bow Valley College (herein referred to as the “College” or “BVC”) actively enrolled in a program during the Winter 2023 term.
3. PRIZE: The College will provide five (5) chosen winners each with a tuition credit award worth $100 (one hundred dollars). The College will waive the cost of $100 of tuition and mandatory non-instructional fees for each winner.
4. QUALIFYING TO WIN: On or around February 13, 2023, BVC will draw, at random, five individuals from a pool of eligible contestants who enter the 2023 BVC Pride Social Media Photo Contest.
The College will confirm each drawee’s eligibility as defined in this document.. If a drawee is ineligible, their name will be discarded, and new draw conducted. If a drawee is eligible, they will be considered a Winner.
Winners will be asked to share their BVC email with the College Instagram account (Instagram.com/bowvalley) through an Instagram direct message. The College will not reach out with any other Instagram account. The College will then attempt to contact each Winner twice each via student email. If BVC cannot reach a Winner within five (5) calendar days of the drawing, receives no response from the Winner within five (5) calendar days, or the Winner declines the Prize, their eligibility will be canceled, and a new drawing will take place immediately.
5. ADDITIONAL TERMS:
a. By accepting the Prize, the Winner holds harmless and indemnifies the College, its employees, board, and third-party service providers of all liability related to the awarding and use of the Prize.
b. The Prize must be accepted as defined above. It is not available as a cash sum nor as a refund from the learner’s account. The Prize cannot be transferred to another program, or post-secondary institution.
c. The College retains the right to disqualify individual entrants if, in The College’s sole opinion, the entrant is suspected of attempting to manipulate the drawing or unfairly increase their chances of winning.
d. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible applicants who complete the survey.
e. The College is not liable for technological or connectivity issues should an applicant have trouble accessing the online survey.
f. The College reserves the right to revise these terms and conditions or to cancel the promotion at its sole discretion.
