*Conferral date is the date your credential (Certificate or diploma) is officially confirmed and communicated to you. It is not the same as a convocation ceremony.

Please note that if you are a Health Care Aide learner standard conferral dates listed here may not apply, as your conferral date is now dependent on when you take and successfully pass the Alberta Health Care Aide Provincial Exam. All Health Care Aide learners are given 60 days from the completion of courses to write their exam; official graduation will commence after this examination period.

Preparing to Submit your Application to Graduate

Before you submit your Application to Graduate, learners should check their MyBVC and verify that following information is correct:

  1. Legal name to verify information
Your legal name is the name that appears on your government issued photo identification such as a passport or driver’s license. If your legal name has changed, is incorrect or needs to be updated, please fill out and submit a Change of Name form through email to grad@bowvalleycollege.ca.
  2. Address to send your parchment
It is your responsibility to ensure that your current mailing address is kept up to date to receive your parchment. You can verify or update your mailing address by logging into your MyBVC, going to ‘Registration’ and clicking on “Change Address”. If an original parchment is returned for incorrect mailing address, you will be notified by email. If an original parchment is not returned to Bow Valley College a $50 parchment replacement fee will be applied for a parchment replacement. Refer to Mandatory non-instructional fees chart.
