Program Description
The Perioperative Nursing Certificate of Completion is designed to provide Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses the theoretical and technical knowledge required to provide safe competent care across all phases of the perioperative process. The program is offered in a blended format with theory courses delivered asynchronously on-line and skills labs and clinical practicums delivered in-person. Knowledge and experience gained through learning theory, skills labs, and work integrated learning provides the learner with the required knowledge and skills to work in a perioperative environment.
This program is delivered in a blended mode.

Admission Requirements
- Applicants must be either actively registered in Canada as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Applicants must provide proof of College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) registration or College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) licensure.

Our perioperative program offers work-integrated learning placements in surgical centers within Southern Alberta. It is also the responsibility of the learner for all costs associated with transportation and accommodation as travel is an expectation of all work-integrated learning courses.
