Courses you take at Bow Valley College may count in place of the high school courses you need for admission. You can take many of these courses through Open Studies to qualify for admission. With a satisfactory grade, these courses may also qualify for transfer credit.

Administrative Professional Certificate, Business Administration Certificate or Diploma, Financial Planning Certificate of Achievement, Human Resources Certificate, Legal Assistant Diploma, Medical Office Assistant & Unit Clerk Certificate, Risk Management Certificate of Achievement, Veterinary Office Assistant Certificate.

  • ENGL1201 (English Composition) or MGMT1201 (Business Communication) are accepted in lieu of the high school English requirement, with a minimum grade of "D" (50%).
  • MGMT1501 - Business Mathematics is accepted in lieu of the high school Math requirement, with a minimum grade of "D" (50%).

 

School of Community Studies

Addiction Studies Diploma, Child and Youth Care Diploma, Disability Studies Certificate or Diploma, Early Childhood Certificate or Diploma, Education Assistant Certificate, Justice Studies Diploma, Recreation Therapy Aide Certificate, Social Work Diploma.

  • ENGL1201 (English Composition) is accepted in lieu of the high school English requirement, with a minimum grade of "D" (50%).

School of Health and Wellness

Interdisciplinary Therapy Aide Diploma, Pharmacy Technician Diploma, Practical Nurse Diploma

  • ENGL1201 (English Composition) is accepted in lieu of the high school English requirement, with a minimum grade of "C-" (60%).
  • ANAT1101 (Anatomy & Physiology) is accepted in lieu of the high school Biology requirement, with a minimum grade of "C" (64%).
